Stuart Vermaak
Originally from South Africa, Stuart moved to Sydney, Australia where we received his Bachelor of Natural Science in Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security from the University of Western Sydney. In 2010 he began travelling to Loudoun County as a counselor for a summer camp in Middleburg where he met his wife. After receiving his undergraduate degree he worked on a diverse family farm in Loudoun. Stuart joined the VCE Loudoun team in the fall of 2017 and assists the county in providing educational programs and advice on food safety for producers, consumers, farmer’s markets, restaurants and retail establishments. In 2020, Stuart obtained his Masters Degree in Agriculture and Life Sciences with a concentration in Food Safety & Biosecurity from Virginia Tech. He and his wife, a Loudoun native, live in Round Hill.
