Barbara Bailey

Community Engagement Coordinator

Growing up in a military family, Barbara moved around the U.S. a lot, finally establishing roots in Virginia once her father retired.  She is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Finance and takes advantage of every opportunity to get back down to Blacksburg.

Barbara has been a resident of Loudoun County since 1992, and is retired from the corporate telecom world as an Executive in the finance and marketing areas.  Upon retirement, she pursued her passion of plants and got involved in the Master Gardener program when one of her trees was failing.

A Master Gardener since 2006, she took on many roles within the organization to include Team Lead/Co-Lead for the Demo Garden, Communications, Water Stewards, Training, and established the Speakers Bureau for the Loudoun unit.  She volunteered with the Symposium, Tree Stewards, and other specialty teams.  Barbara also served in numerous Officer roles with the Loudoun County Master Gardener Association to include Assistant Treasurer, Second Vice President, First Vice President and President. During the Presidency and 2 years beyond, she was appointed the role of Master Gardener Volunteer Coordinator as a volunteer.

In 2019, Barbara proudly joined VCE Loudoun as the Community Engagement Coordinator with responsibility for recruiting, training, and administering more than 200 volunteers supporting Extension’s services and education programming for Loudoun’s residents.
